As the Hamilton Tiger-Cats Football Club looks towards the future and the 2015 season at Tim Hortons Field, we are eager to continue striving towards our mission to coordinate and deliver safe and caring services that help to promote the physical, mental and social well-being of the TigerTown community. Here is a look at some unique statistics through our involvement in our community through 2014:
- 17– The Tiger-Cats teamed up with the Hamilton Police Force to faceoff against 17 different high school teams and raise money in support of McMaster Childrens Hospital and St. Joseph’s Health Care Foundation as part of the Cops & Cats program.
- 25 – The number of scheduled player visits to McMaster Children’s Hospital during the inaugural year of the “Hearts In the Huddle”, presented by Direct Energy.
- 30 – The number of high schools in the TigerTown region participated in the Ticats High School Mentorship program, which including over 90 visits from Ticats players.
- 50 – Families that attended games at Tim Hortons Field between Labor Day until end of the CFL regular season as part of Hearts in the Huddle presented by Direct Energy.
- 100 – In 2014, the Play Action program hosted 100 different football related events in the TigerTown area. A total of 1,200 hours was amounted to minor football specific events in our community.
- 266 – The total number of schools visited between the Tiger-Cats BeFit, High School Mentorship, and Cops and Cats programs.
- 900+ – Total appearances by a player, cheerleader and mascot visits at high schools, elementary schools, McMaster Childrens Hospital, football camps and other events in the Greater Hamilton area during 2014.
- 1,786 – Ticats players and cheerleaders spent a total of 1,786 hours in the community over the 2014 calander year.
- 75,000+ – The Tim Hortons Play Action program helped fundraise and distribute more than $75,000 in 2014 within our five Play Action regions – Guelph, Hamilton, Burlington, Brantford and Niagara.
