HAMILTON – The Hamilton Tiger-Cats have acquired national offensive lineman Ryan Bomben from the Montreal Alouettes in exchange for the Ticats’ First and Third Round picks (8th and 24th overall) in tonight’s 2015 CFL Draft.
Bomben, a 6-4, 305-pound native of Burlington, Ontario, was selected in the fourth round (31st overall) of the 2010 CFL Draft. The 27-year-old has played 72 career games over four seasons with the Alouettes, starting at guard, tackle and tight end. The jack-of-all-trades lineman has eight receptions for 52 yards and one touchdown in his career.
“Ryan is a talented, athletic and versatile player that can play three positions up front. Additionally, he gives our team ratio flexibility and is an outstanding individual that will fit well with our team,” said head coach and general manager Kent Austin.
Before turning pro, Bomben played four seasons at the University of Guelph, earning an Ontario Conference first-team all-star nod in 2009.
