With the Tiger-Cats on their first bye week of the season, many players are taking the opportunity to get some much-needed time back at home. With this in mind, here is a look at where each player on the active roster calls home.
The trip home won’t be lengthy for the team-high 12 players who call Ontario home, including three (Matt Coates, Ryan Bomben and Mike Filer) who are immediately within the Hamilton area.
The roster has had somewhat of a California insurgency since last season. Seven players call The Golden State home, four of whom (Ray Holley, Nic Grigsby, Jeff Mathews and Johnny Sears Jr.) were not on the roster at the beginning of 2014.
Quebec has also been a strong pool of talent for the Ticats as of late, with seven players on the current roster, all of whom have been acquired in the last three years.
Outside of Ontario, Quebec and California, North Carolina (4) and Texas (3) are the only other states or provinces with three or more players on the roster. Joel Figueroa, who was born in Puerto Rico, is the only non-Canadian or American-born player on the roster.
