Tiger-cats Sign Ol Ryan Bomben To A Three-year Contract Extension

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats announced today that the football club has signed national offensive lineman Ryan Bomben to a three-year contract extension through the 2018 CFL season.
“Ryan is an excellent player and has been a great addition to our offensive line this season,” said Tiger-Cats Vice-President of Football Operations, General Manager and Head Coach, Kent Austin. “He exemplifies everything you look for in a football player and we’re thrilled that he has made a long-term commitment to our team.”
Bomben, 28, has started nine games at right guard this season in his first year with the Tiger-Cats. The 6-4, 305-pound native of Burlington, Ontario registered his second-career receiving touchdown on August 9 versus Winnipeg.
In five CFL seasons, Bomben has appeared in 82 career games with the Montreal Alouettes and Tiger-Cats. The versatile lineman has started games at guard, tackle and tight end, registering nine catches for 60 yards and two receiving touchdowns in his CFL career. He also dressed in four playoff games for Montreal, including the 2013 East Semi-Final and 2014 East Final versus Hamilton.
Bomben, who played four seasons at Guelph University from 2006 to 2009, was selected by the Alouettes in the fourth round, 31st overall, in the 2010 CFL Draft. He was acquired by the Tiger-Cats from Montreal on May 12, 2015 in exchange for Hamilton’s first-round pick (eighth overall) and third-round pick (24th overall) in the 2015 CFL Draft.
