What’s your favourite thing to do in Hamilton?
“I like to go play putt-putt. I forget the name of the place, but it’s right off of Exit 90; they’ve got putt-putt, bumper karts, go karts and stuff.”
Who do you hang out with most off the field?
“Emanuel Davis.”
NBA 2K, Madden, or FIFA?
“Madden. Honestly, right now I’m arguably the best Madden player on the team. My go-to teams are the Rams or the Raiders. Defence.”
What’s your go-to pre-game meal?
“I either go to Staxx and get chicken and waffles, or I go to Good Life Deli and get a BLT or something like that.”
Was there a football player you idolized growing up?
“Emmitt Smith. I always wanted to be a running back, I was a fat fullback, but I definitely idolized Emmitt Smith.”
Where did you get the #40 from?
“When I started football my brother wore #39, and I chose #40. I stuck with #40 and he switched around to a couple of numbers, but it’s been my number forever.”
Who’s the best player you ever played against?
“I’d probably say Aaron Rodgers. I played against him when I was in Carolina with the Panthers, it was the first or second game of the 2011 season. He was by far the best player I’ve played against.”
The Panthers lost the second game of the 2011 NFL season to Rodgers’ Packers by a score of 30-23, the star quarterback threw for two touchdowns and 308 yards on 19-of-30 passing.
Who’s the best player you’ve played with?
“Charles Johnson, defensive end for the Carolina Panthers. He’s an 8 or 9-year veteran now for them.”
Norwood and Johnson played together in Carolina from 2010 thru the 2012 preseason.
What’s your number one football memory?
“My number one memory is when my brother and I got a chance to play against each other in college. It was in 2009, he played for South Carolina State, I played for South Carolina, it was a cross-town rivalry so it was big.”
Eric’s Gamecocks defeated the cross-town rival and his brother Erin’s Bulldogs on October 3, 2009 at Williams-Brice Stadium. Eric recorded an interception in the 38-14 victory for South Carolina.
