During each Tiger-Cats game, fans who sign up for Ticats All Access have the opportunity to participate in our gameday predictor challenge. Fans will have the chance to prove that they are the most knowledgeable (or luckiest) fan, by answering a number of props questions prior to kickoff. The more questions you get right, the more yards you collect for your All Access account, which increase your chances for gameday and weekly prizes.
This week we have a number of bonus opportunities available:
- Earn 100 bonus yards for making your Predictor Game picks before midnight tonight (Fri., Oct. 30)
- Earn 50 bonus yards for making your Predictor Game picks before midnight tomorrow night (Sat., Oct. 31)

Here are five of the questions for this week’s home game against the Redblacks, and which answers I’ll be choosing. 1. How many completions will Jeff Mathews throw? Over under 20.5 completions? (Question #9)
The Redblacks defence ranks first in the league in opponent completions, allowing an average of 20.3 per game; however, they also have faced the second-fewest number of pass attempts this season (32.8). Mathews has completed 21+ pass attempts in each of his last three games, falling short of the total just once, his first career start against the Stampeders.
Mathews has been consistently accurate since taking over as the Ticats starter, completing 70.7% of his passes in four starts. He has not yet reached qualifier status for passing statistics, but Mathews would rank third in the league in completion percentage behind Henry Burris and Trevor Harris with that completion rate.
The rookie quarterback will face a Redblacks secondary that is tied with Hamilton’s for the most interceptions in the CFL, but they are likely to be missing starter Jerrell Gavins who has four of those interceptions. Regardless of whether or not Gavins is in the lineup, I expect Mathews to throw for at least 21 completions in what should be a pass-heavy game for both teams.

2. How many receiving yards will Terrell Sinkfield record? Over or under 81.5? (Question #10)
Sinkfield sits just 33 yards short of 1,000 on the season, despite sitting out three games in the middle of the team’s schedule. The second-year receiver has averaged 76.2 receiving yards per home game this season and he’s been used heavily since the insertion of Mathews as starting quarterback.
The Ticats dynamic receiver made just three receptions in BC last week, but he made the most of his opportunities, racking up 52 yards (17.3 per reception). Since his Week Nine explosion in Edmonton, Sinkfield has not recorded fewer than 90 yards in consecutive games and I’d expect that streak to remain intact against the Redblacks on Sunday.

3. How many sacks will the Tiger-Cats defence record? Over or under 2.5 sacks? (Question #12)
The Ticats have continued to garner pressure on opposing quarterbacks, but they’ve struggled to turn that pressure into sacks. Just four of the team’s 35 sacks have come over the last three games and they’ll face a Redblacks offensive line that has allowed a sack total below league-average. Coach Steinauer’s defence is always going to produce pressure, but I can’t be confident choosing the over on sacks until they get back on track in the category.

4. What will the longest pass completion be? Over or under 42.5 yards? (Question #4)
The Ticats and Redblacks defences have each been stingy against the pass this season. The Ticats have held opponents to just 6.7 yards per pass (1st), a 61.0% completion percentage (1st) and 249.3 passing yards per game (3rd). On the other side of the field, the Redblacks have held opponents to 257.9 passing yards per game (4th), a 62.0% completion percentage (4th) and have racked up 50 sacks (1st). Both passing offences have been on fire this season, but the passing defences have been just as prolific and I expect them to stifle plays down the field.

5. What will be the final score outcome?
A) Ticats +8, B) Ticats +4, C) Even (3 or less by either team) D) REDBLACKS +4, E) REDBLACKS +8 (Question #20)
Sunday’s game is the most important game that either team has played all season, and the heightened implications of the home-and-home between the Ticats and Redblacks is sure to bring out the best in both teams. With first place in the East Division on the line and two complete teams fighting for the title, this is shaping up to be the best game we’ve seen at Tim Hortons Field in 2015. When these two 10-6 teams clash on Sunday I’d fully expect it to come down the wire.
