During each Tiger-Cats game, fans who sign up for Ticats All Access have the opportunity to participate in our gameday predictor challenge. Fans will have the chance to prove that they are the most knowledgeable (or luckiest) fan, by answering a number of props questions prior to kickoff. The more questions you get right, the more yards you collect for your All Access account, which increase your chances for gameday and weekly prizes.
This week we have a number of bonus opportunities available:
- Earn 100 bonus yards for making your Predictor Game picks before midnight tonight (Thurs,. Nov. 5)

Here are five of the questions for this week’s road game in Ottawa, and which answers I’ll be choosing. Use these answers to gain the upper hand on the competition and earn yourself more yards! 1. How many points will both teams score, combined? Over or under 43.5? (Question #1)
Last week’s over/under of 52.5 points was well above the final outcome of 18 points; however, two end zone interceptions and an improperly negated INT touchdown by the Ticats and a number of strong red zone stands by the Black and Gold defence drastically reduced the point total. If the Ticats had scored on even two of those potential opportunities and allowed a single touchdown to the Redblacks rather than forcing them to settle for a field goal, the total score jumps to 36.
The reduced over/under of 43.5 makes this question an interesting one, and while I’m expecting an influx of offence in this week’s game, I’m still going to side with the under here. The defensive units of both teams are often overshadowed by the high-powered offences, but this weekend I expect the defences to demand attention for the second straight week.

2. What will the longest run be? Over or under 24.5 yards? (Question #5)
Neither team managed a run of 25 or more yards in last week’s prequel, but each notched a run of 23 yards in the contest. With explosive playmakers like CJ Gable, Terrell Sinkfield and Brandon Banks suiting up for the Ticats, and similarly dynamic players like William Powell and Chris Williams on the other side of the ball, I’m anticipating that at least one team breaks free for a run of 25+ yards.

3. How many passing yards will Redblacks quarterback Henry Burris record? Over or under 300.5? (Question #17)
The Ticats defence held Hank to just 187 passing yards in last week’s contest, and this week they’ll look to limit him even further. With Burris’ mobility limited by his injury, the Redblacks relied exclusively on short dink and dunk passes to work their way up the field. The Redblacks receivers dropped a number of passes in the game, but Burris’ production was limited by more than just the drops; the Ticats secondary had Ottawa’s number last week, and I’d expect another strong performance in Ottawa on Saturday.

4. What will the longest pass completion be? Over or under 42.5 yards? (Question #4)
The longest pass of last week’s game was a 27-yard toss to Tiquan Underwood down the stretch, with the Redblacks in a prevent defence. Both offences relied heavily on short passes, and both secondaries shut down anything deep down the field. On top of that, both teams’ pass rushes were able to generate too much pressure for the opposing quarterback to let down-field routes develop. With the Ticats starting either Jeremiah Masoli or Jacory Harris and the Redblacks relying on an injured Henry Burris, I would not expect either team to take many downfield shots in this weekend’s clash. Unless one of the shifty receivers is able to pick up a huge chunk of yardage after the catch, a 43-yard completion is likely a write-off in this one.

5. What will be the final score outcome?
A) Ticats +8, B) Ticats +4, C) Even (3 or less by either team) D) REDBLACKS +4, E) REDBLACKS +8 (Question #20)
The Ticats need a win of at least six to clinch first place in the East Division, while the Redblacks need anything else to solidify a home date for the East Final. Neither team is going to give an inch in this battle for a first-round bye in the playoffs. While I’d hope to see a Ticats victory of 8+, I anticipate a tightly-fought battle in Ottawa a point differential of three or less in either direction.
