20 – The Ticats scored 20 consecutive points in the second quarter of Saturday’s game, outscoring the Redblacks 20-0 in the quarter. After exiting the first quarter trailing 17-0, the Ticats entered halftime with a 20-17 lead.
530 – The Ticats outscored every team in the CFL this year, scoring an average of 29.4 points per game. Hamilton was the only team in the league to break the 500-point barrier this season, finishing the season with 530 points.
391 – The Ticats were the only team in the East Division to allow fewer than 400 points against this season, finishing the season with 391 points allowed. On top of the superior season total, the Ticats gave up the fewest points to East Division (167) and West Division (224) foes this season.
5-4 – With a 5-4 record at home and on the road, the Ticats were one of two teams (Toronto Argonauts) to finish the season with identical home and road records. Every other playoff team finished the season with a superior record at home.
2,073 – Brandon Banks finished the season with 2,073 combined yards, besting his league-leading season total from 2014 by over 100 yards. Despite the fact that he added a significant chunk of yards to last year’s total, Banks finished third in the CFL in combined yards after finishing first in the league last season.
100 – The Ticats were just one of two teams to close out the season without a single running back reaching 100 carries. In fact, none of the three primary Ticats ball-carriers this season (Ray Holley, CJ Gable and Michael Ford) carried the ball more than 70 times. The Redblacks, who were the other team without a 100-carry back, received 97 carries from Jeremiah Johnson and 76 from William Powell.
60% – The Tiger-Cats did not have a single targeted receiver with a reception percentage under 60%; only one other team in the entire CFL (Toronto) can boast the same feat.
251.9 – Despite the fact that opposing teams passed more against the Ticats than any other team in the league (663 total pass attempts, 36.8 per game), the Black and Gold defence gave up the third-lowest total passing yards per game (251.9). Opposing quarterbacks averaged a league-low 6.8 yards per pass attempt against Hamilton’s defence, while completing just 61.2% of their pass attempts.
620 – It’s well-known that the Ticats led the league in interceptions (26) and total takeaways (52) this season; however, it is not recognized that they racked up a league-high 620 yards on interception returns. No other team in the entire CFL managed more than 430 interception return yards in 2015.
+174 – The Ticats +174 first-half point differential was far-and-away the league’s highest total; however, their -35 second-half point differential was sixth in the league.
