This season, the Hamilton Tiger-Cats set out to find the most passionate fan in TigerTown through our Biggest Fan contest. Ticats All Access members competed all season to be declared the biggest fan and win an exclusive Hamilton Tiger-Cats experience including Grey Cup tickets, 2016 season seats, and more. On November 15 at Tim Hortons Field, Scott Hamilton of Waterdown, Ontario was crowned the Biggest Fan and was invited to join the team for warm ups prior to their East Semi-Final victory against the Toronto Argonauts.
Scott’s Biggest Fan Prize Pack included a trip for two to Winnipeg to watch the Eskimos and Redblacks battle it out at Investors Group Field in the 103rd Grey Cup. Scott documented his first ever trip to the big game on social media.
Upon arrival in Winnipeg, Scott was sure to take a photo with the official countdown clock of the 103rd Grey Cup, presented by Shaw.
After picking up his Grey Cup passes, Scott took part in the festivities at the official TigerTown Party. “The TigerTown Party was crazy, it was so much fun,” Scott said. “It was great meeting other Tiger-Cats fans, Simoni Lawrence, Peter Dyakowski, John Williams Jr., and the cheerleaders!”
On Sunday, Scott and his wife Michelle arrived at Investors Group Field for the big game. He described the atmosphere as electric, crazy, loud, and full of excitement. “Now I know why people say once you go to one Grey Cup, you’ll want to go to them all,” Scott said, “We definitely have Grey Cup fever now and thanks to All Access we get to go to the 104th in Toronto.”
When asked about his favorite part of the weekend, “meeting other CFL fans at the Grey Cup Festival and seeing how passionate they are about their teams,” was the answer. “However they are not as passionate as the Black and Gold fans,” he continued.
