The Hamilton Tiger-Cats announced today that the football club has signed international defensive end Adrian Tracy to a contract extension through 2018, and re-signed national long snapper Aaron Crawford to a two-year contract.
Tracy, 28, dressed and started in six regular season games for the Tiger-Cats in 2015, the first of which marked his CFL debut on July 2 at Winnipeg. On the season, the 6-3, 245-pound native of Fairfax, Virginia registered 15 defensive tackles, one fumble recovery and two pass knock downs. Tracy was signed to the Tiger-Cats practice roster in 2014 after attending training camp with the NFL’s Arizona Cardinals. He also spent parts of four seasons (2010-13) with the New York Giants, who selected him in the sixth round, 184th overall, in the 2010 NFL Draft.
In four seasons (2006-09) at the College of William and Mary, Tracy posted 283 tackles, 31 quarterback sacks, four forced fumbles, one interception, eight pass knock downs and one blocked kick in 47 games. He was named to the All-CAA first-team as a junior and senior, and holds the William and Mary school record for career sacks (31) and starts (47).
Crawford, 29, appeared in all 18 regular season games and two playoff games for the Tiger-Cats in 2015, serving as the team’s long snapper and registering seven special teams tackles. Over three CFL seasons, the 6-4, 250-pound native of Medicine Hat, Alberta has suited up in 36 games with Hamilton. Crawford, who played two seasons (2009 & 2011) in the CIS with St. Mary’s University, also spent time with Saskatchewan and Toronto after being selected by the Argonauts in the sixth round, 40th overall, in the 2012 CFL Draft.
