Tiger-cats Re-sign Wide Receiver Aprile To Two-year Contract

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats announced Monday that the football club has re-signed national wide receiver Giovanni Aprile to a two-year contract.
Aprile, 27, played in eight regular season games and the Eastern Semi-Final for the Tiger-Cats in 2016. The 6-3, 200-pound receiver has appeared in 24 CFL games (two starts) in his career, all with the Tiger-Cats, registering six special teams tackles. Aprile was originally acquired by the Tiger-Cats from the Winnipeg Blue Bombers on January 28, 2014 in exchange for defensive back Matt Bucknor. He was selected by the Blue Bombers in the third round, 16th overall, in the 2012 CFL Draft out of Queens University.
At Queens, the native of Scarborough, Ontario, played 29 games over four seasons (2010-13), accumulating 120 receptions for 2,155 yards and 15 touchdowns, 37 carries for 262 yards and two rushing touchdowns, and a total of 1,041 return yards with three additional touchdowns.
