The Ticats Support Hamilton’s future!

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats have been and always will be enthusiastically supportive of any initiative and investment that will benefit the City we represent, simply because we cannot be successful if the City we represent is not successful.

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats are a surprisingly large business. We employ literally hundreds of people, most of whom live in Hamilton or the surrounding area. They all shop, eat, and enjoy Hamilton entertainment. We pay significant city taxes and support our fellow city merchants, and we unequivocally support building the LRT for our City.

My personal test of whether something is a great idea is who is supporting the initiative. Old guys like me tend to have already decided what is important to us and getting us to move is difficult. By extension, most of us decide how and where we want to live by the time we leave school. Each generation has the opportunity to choose where they live. For Hamilton to be successful, we have to make our City attractive to the next generation.

Listening to the next generation is essential to the success of any business enterprise and the Tiger-Cats are no exception. This rule applies to the governance of a City, Province or Country. We are trying to make our City better for our children because we want them to be enthusiastic citizens of the City we love. These new residents will cause our real estate values to rise, they will expand our tax base, and they will make our city, in a word, more.

Hamilton needs the LRT if it is going to compete with all the great cities of the world. Competition is good as it helps us aspire to be better. Now is the time to aspire to be as attractive to the next generation as any of the great cities of the world.
