Performance by the Canadian rock band highlights an action packed evening at Tim Hortons Field for the Ticats regular season debut in Hamilton
With the Hamilton Tiger-Cats regular season schedule kicking off on June 25 in Toronto, the team unveiled plans this afternoon for their 2017 Home Opener, presented by First Ontario Credit Union, set for Saturday, July 15 at Tim Hortons Field versus the BC Lions at 7:30 p.m.
Heading into the 2017 season with an active streak of 27 consecutive sellouts at Tim Hortons Field, the Tiger-Cats home schedule kicks off with a tilt against the Lions for a second consecutive season. The first 4,000 fans that enter into the game through the FirstOntario Credit Union Gate (Gate 5, at the corner of Beechwood Ave. and Balsam Ave. N.) will receive foam football helmets, courtesy of FirstOntario Credit Union. Gates open at 6:30 p.m.
A performance by Kingston-based rock band The Glorious Sons, presented by The Hamilton Spectator, will be one of the many highlights of a new-look, in-game entertainment experience at Tim Hortons Field. Fans are encouraged to remain in their seats at the end of the second quarter and enjoy an electric set from The Glorious Sons, who will be taking the stage on the Coors Light Patio at the beginning of halftime A dynamic rock outfit in the vein of the Tragically Hip, Arkells, Kings Of Leon and Cage The Elephant, The Glorious Sons are primed to rock for 24,000 Tiger-Cats fans on gameday.
Season seat holders are reminded to bring their 2017 All Access cards to the Home Opener to take advantage of their exclusive 15% discount on food and non-alcoholic beverages at permanent concessions around the stadium. Additional season seat holder All Access cards can be picked up at the Tim Hortons Field box office on gameday. To request additional cards, up to the number of seats in your account, season seat holders can visit allaccess.ticats.ca in advance of the game.
The Home Opener marks the grand opening of Stripes’ Jungle, a 2,000 square foot playground located in the Findlay Family Zone behind Section 109. The custom Ticats themed kid’s playground, accessible free of charge to ticket holders, will be the centerpiece of the re-imagined Findlay Family Zone, which will feature more mascot appearances, children’s menu items courtesy of Levy Restaurants and plenty of family friendly Cub Club activities.
