ZACH & TASK – MOVING THE CHAINS FOR MENTAL HEALTH

Hamilton Tiger-Cats quarterback Zach Collaros and receiver Luke Tasker, in conjunction with the Zach Collaros Foundation, have stepped up and are helping the Hamilton Health Sciences Foundation “move the chains” on the Mental Heath Wellness courtyard project! Throughout the 2017 season, they will be donating money to this cause by way of the yards and touchdowns they collect during each game. If you’d like to contribute to this campaign as well, you are able to provide your own donation below.
McMaster Children’s Hospital has one of the largest Child and Youth Mental Health Programs (CYMHP) in the country. Serving a local and regional population over 1.3 million – 20% of whom are children- the CYMHP provides outpatient, inpatient, day treatment, and emergency mental health services.
The unit is locked, designed for safety and currently has no access to the outdoors. Research tells us about the positive relationship between physical  activity, play, mindfulness and mental health. We need to support recovery by maximizing the ability of children and youth to access outdoor space. As a result, the McMaster Children’s Hospital Foundation has helped kickstart a fundraising campaign in order to make this possible!
So, let’s cheer on Zach and Luke and the entire Tiger-Cats team! Each successful completion gets us one step closer to making this project a reality!! Thank you!
