Ticats All Access Game Day Predictor, presented by Sports Interaction: Week 6 vs. Stampeders

- How many points will both teams score combined? Over or under 54.5?
In two meetings last season, the Calgary Stampeders and the Hamilton Tiger-Cats combined for an average of 53.5 points. There was little disparity between the games, with the teams combining for 54 points in the first contest, and 53 points in the rematch.
This season the Tiger-Cats are averaging 22.25 per game, whereas Bo Levi and the Stampeders’ offence average 30.6 points. If both teams continue at their present rate, they would combine for almost 53 points in Saturday’s showdown.
Calgary has averaged more points at home than on the road this season, and the Tiger-Cats scoring average is bogged down by a couple slow performances to kick off the 2017 campaign.
With both the Calgary and Hamilton secondary allowing more yards per game than the league average, offensive fireworks could win the day in Calgary.

- How many field goals will Sergio Castillo hit? Over or under 2.5?
When Winnipeg Blue Bombers kicker, Justin Medlock, missed a last second field goal against the BC Lions in Week 5, Hamilton Tiger-Cats Kicker, Sergio Castillo, became the only remaining perfect kicker in the league.
Castillo is nine for nine on the season and Head Coach Kent Austin believes he is improving as the season rolls on, saying, “his last game was his best game, in all phases.”
The only reason to doubt Castillo is that he averages just 2.25 attempts per game.

- How many special teams tackles will Mercer Timmis record? Over or under 0.5?
The Ticats’ play on special teams has been a bright spot through the first four games. Numerous National players are making their mark, including the linebacker duo Nicholas Shortill and Terrell Davis, who have both covered brilliantly downfield.
National running back and 2016 draft pick, Mercer Timmis, has also been effective in coverage, recording 3 special teams tackles, or an average of almost one special teams tackle per game.
Timmis is a former Calgary Dino, and playing in McMahon may incite a dominant performance from the young Hamiltonian.

- How many yards will Jerome Messam rush for? Over or under 64.5?
Calgary Stampeders running back Jerome Messam led the league in 2016, with 1,198 rushing yards. The dominant National talent is on pace for very similar production this season.
Messam plays in a Dave Dickenson system that likes to feed him the ball regularly – he had 28 carries in Calgary’s week five victory over Saskatchewan.
Messam is a physical back, typically running over opposing defences. One of the Tiger-Cats’ strengths this season is the front seven, and as a result, the run defence. The Tiger-Cats have been effective in limiting opponent rushing yards per game.

- Which Hamilton Tiger-Cat receiver will have the most receiving yards?
- Jalen Saunders
- Luke Tasker
- Brian Tyms
- Mike Jones
- Other
Jalen Saunders has been a bright spot for the Tiger-Cats and has represented a much-needed downfield threat. By providing a vertical dimension to the offence, Saunders has helped diversify the options at Collaros’ disposal. After a slow start, Tasker’s production has been heating up, and he remains one of Collaros’ preferred targets.
Mike Jones, 2016 draft pick has also had a standout start to 2017. He is second on the team in receiving yards and has been remarkably consistent, notching 14 receptions on just 17 attempts. If his targets increase, he is likely to capitalize and ratchet his production.
