
EVENT SNAPSHOT: WEATHERTECH FOOTBALL DAY IN HAMILTON
12 p.m. | HAMILTON HURRICANES GAME (FREE ADMISSION) – The Hamilton Hurricanes kick off WeatherTech Football Day in Hamilton festivities at 12 noon (gates open at 11 a.m.), hosting the GTA Grizzlies in Canadian Junior Football League action at Tim Hortons Field. The game, which has playoff implications for both teams, is free to watch for football fans in the region. Seating is available on the east side of the stadium only. Please enter through the Pioneer Gate (Gate 1) and head to Section 115. Food and beverage will be available to purchase.
2:30 p.m. | CONCERT IN THE SOUTH PLAZA (FREE ADMISSION) – After the Hurricanes game at approximately 2:30 p.m., a free admission concert presented by Supercrawl commences in the South Plaza at Tim Hortons Field. Food and alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages will be available to purchase in the South Plaza throughout the concert. Please note that smoking is not prohibited on City of Hamilton property, which includes the South Plaza.

6:30 p.m. | LABOUR DAY CLASSIC GAME – It’s the grand finale of Mark’s Labour Day Weekend and one of the oldest and most intense rivalries in professional sports. The Tiger-Cats and Argonauts kick off their Labour Day Classic battle at 6:30 p.m., live from Tim Hortons Field. The pregame party in The Stipley starts at 2:30 p.m. (for anyone with a Ticats game ticket) inside Gates 1 and 2. All stadium gates open for the Tiger-Cats game at 5:30 p.m.
WHAT’S HAPPENING AT THE TIGER-CATS GAME
PUROLATOR TACKLE HUNGER FOOD DRIVE – Bring your non-perishable food items or a cash donation to the game to support the Purolator Tackle Hunger program and get your picture taken with the Grey Cup! Last season, CFL teams raised a collective 1.4 million pounds of food, largely thanks to the participation of the TigerTown fan base. Look for the Purolator Tackle Hunger tent in the South Plaza to drop off your donations. There will also be donation bins located at each gate. Donations will benefit Hamilton Food Share.
PREGAME GATHERING IN THE STIPLEY AT 2:30 P.M. – Eager to get into the stadium and soak in the atmosphere? The Pioneer Gate (Gate 1) will open at 2:30 p.m. for a pregame gathering in The Stipley. Enjoy the concert and food and beverages in the shadow of the newly relocated Touchdown Whistle and some old fashioned BBQ eats, courtesy of the Stipley Smokehouse. At 5:30 p.m., the stadium opens and guests can make their way to their seats.
GATES OPEN AT 5:30 P.M. – Per Tim Hortons Field security protocol, security wanding will be in effect at all stadium gates. Please remember to remove the contents of your pockets, including your phone, and have your game tickets ready for presentation to reduce wait times to enter. Due to the configuration of the stage in the South Plaza, wanding will take place inside of the temporary event gates.
ANTHEM FLYPASS – A Bell CH-146 Griffon helicopter, a Douglas DC-3 and a Consolidated PBY-5A will be flying over Tim Hortons Field before and during the anthem on Monday evening. A special thank you to the Royal Canadian Air Force and the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum. Keep an eye on the skies!
SCAN YOUR CAN FOR A CHANCE TO WIN – Visit the Coors Light Patio (underneath the videoboard) during the game and scan your Coors Light can during the first half of the game for your chance to win cool prizes – look for the Coors Light Promo team!
A NEW CRAFT BEER ON TAP (LIMITED TIME ONLY!) – Bench Brewing’s latest creation, Azacca Grove Dry Hopped Sour, is now pouring for a limited time at the Craft Gardens (behind Section 118) at Tim Hortons Field. Dry, tart and with juicy aromas of pineapple and tropical fruits – enjoy!
FAMILIES ON THE FIELD – At the conclusion of the game, fans will be welcomed onto the turf at Tim Hortons Field to play in the footsteps of their Black & Gold idols. Families on the Field, presented by Summer Fresh, provides children with an exclusive and memorable opportunity, whether it’s tossing around a football with mom or taking photos at the 55-yard line with dad. Families on the Field begins 15 minutes after the conclusion of the game and wraps up 35 minutes after the final whistle.

PARKING – Gameday parking lots are open for prepaid pass holders on Monday starting at 8 a.m. Don’t have parking yet? Lot E has spots available for purchase on the day of the game. To support responsible travel, all lots will open at 6 a.m. the following day for guests who choose to leave their vehicle overnight. HSR TICKET TO RIDE – Hamilton Street Railway offers free transportation for game day ticket holders up to two (2) hours prior to game time. A valid gameday ticket must be shown upon boarding for free transportation. Many HSR routes offer drop off locations at or near Tim Hortons Field. For more information, click here.
TICKET OFFICE – The Ticket Office and Will Call windows (located at the corner of Balsam Ave. and Cannon St.) will be open at 9 a.m. on gameday. Whether you’re picking up tickets or looking to purchase seats for future home games at Tim Hortons Field, our service team in the Ticket Office will be able to assist you with all of your ticketing needs.

Regardless of what gate you enter, enjoy 360 degree access around the stadium, crossing from west to east or east to west through the Pioneer Energy Zone or Coors Light Patio.

WATER BOTTLE FILL STATIONS – Guests are permitted to bring their own empty water bottle (up to 1L in size) into Tim Hortons Field and refill them at any one of the water bottle fill stations located on each concourse. Please speak with a C.A.T. Team member if you require assistance locating the fill station closest to you.

SMOKING POLICY – Smoking is NOT permitted within Tim Hortons Field or on City of Hamilton property. This includes the use of e-cigarettes. Guests may exit the facility after the 1st quarter through the RedTag.ca Gate (Gate 4) or TELUS Gate (Gate 5) located at the north corners of the stadium. Guests must have their ticket for re-entry.

The Ticats are back at Tim Hortons Field on Friday, September 15 to host the Saskatchewan Roughriders, presented by Nissan. At the game, this year’s Canadian Football Hall of Fame class will be inducted during a special halftime ceremony. Please join us as we celebrate the contributions of Kelvin Anderson, Anthony Calvillo, Mike O’Shea, Geroy Simon , Stan Schwartz and Brian Towriss, and induct them into the Canadian Football Hall of Fame.
