Hamilton acquired first overall pick in trade with Montreal last night
The Hamilton Tiger-Cats selected wide receiver Mark Chapman with the first overall pick in the 2018 Canadian Football League Draft Thursday evening.
Chapman, 23, started all 12 games for Central Michigan University in 2017, earning third team All-Mid-American Conference honours. Last season, the 6-0, 180-pound receiver led the Chippewas in receptions (54) and receiving yards (805), tied for second in touchdown receptions (5) and finished second in receiving yards per game (67.1). The Port Huron, Michigan native played 45 games at CMU from 2014 to 2017, registering 142 receptions for 1,965 yards and 10 touchdowns.
The draft pick used to select Chapman was acquired in a trade with the Montreal Alouettes Wednesday evening.
