The Hamilton Tiger-Cats made nine selections in the 2018 Canadian Football League Draft on Thursday evening, including wide receiver Mark Chapman first overall as well as offensive lineman and Burlington native Darius Ciraco sixth overall.

Chapman, 23, started all 12 games for Central Michigan University in 2017, earning third team All-Mid-American Conference honours. Last season, the 6-0, 180-pound receiver led the Chippewas in receptions (54) and receiving yards (805), tied for second in touchdown receptions (5) and finished second in receiving yards per game (67.1). The Port Huron, Michigan native played 45 games at CMU from 2014 to 2017, registering 142 receptions for 1,965 yards and 10 touchdowns.
Ciraco, 22, played 28 regular season games for the University of Calgary from 2014 to 2017. The 6-4, 292-pound offensive lineman gained experience at right guard, left tackle and centre during his time with the Dinos. In 2015, the Burlington, Ontario native was named a Canada West All-Star and a Canadian Interuniversity Sport Second-Team All-Canadian. Ciraco was also part of the Dinos teams that won the Mitchell Bowl in 2016 as well as the Hardy Cup in 2016 and 2017.
Bennett, 22, played 23 regular season games for the University of Ottawa from 2014 to 2017. This past season, the 5-10, 212-pound defensive back represented the East team in the U Sports East-West Bowl. Over four seasons with the Gee-Gees, the Cumberland, Ontario native collected 128 tackles and one sack. Also in 2017, Bennett was named Ontario University Athletics’ Stand-Up Defensive Player of the Year and a U Sports Second-Team All-Canadian. As a linebacker, Bennett was named an OUA First-Team All-Star in 2017 and Second-Team All-Star in 2016. As a return specialist, he was also named an OUA Second-Team All-Star in 2017.
Wade, 24, played 40 regular season games for the University of Calgary from 2013 to 2017. The 6-1, 270-pound defensive lineman recorded 74 tackles and 6.5 sacks over his five seasons with the Dinos. In 2017, the Regina, Saskatchewan native was named a U Sports Second-Team All-Canadian and a Canada West All-Star. Along with Ciraco, Wade was part of the Dinos teams that won the Mitchell Bowl in 2016 as well as the Hardy Cup in 2016 and 2017.
Davis, 21, played 30 games for the University of British Columbia from 2014 to 2017. The 5-10, 185-pound wide receiver from Victoria, British Columbia registered 103 receptions for 1,316 yards and 10 touchdowns over his four years with the Thunderbirds.
Buren, 22, played 34 games with Simon Fraser University from 2014 to 2017. The 5-11, 195-pound native of Coquitlam, British Columbia caught 145 passes for 2,012 yards and nine touchdowns, and also rushed 10 times for 66 yards and one touchdown over four seasons with the Clan.
Moore, 22, appeared in 32 games at Queen’s University from 2014 to 2017, collecting 186.5 total tackles, five quarterback sacks, 11 tackles for loss, five forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries. The 6-0, 221-pound native of Mississauga, Ontario, added two interceptions and two pass break ups in his collegiate career with the Gaels.
Van Pelt, 21, appeared in 25 games at the University of Calgary from 2015 to 2017, accumulating 51 total tackles. The 6-4, 260-pound native of Calgary, Alberta, posted career-highs in 2017 with the Dinos in total tackles (26), tackles for loss (7.5) and quarterback sacks (4). Van Pelt was also part of the Dinos teams that won the Mitchell Bowl in 2016 as well as the Hardy Cup in 2016 and 2017.
Parisotto, 22, played 30 games for the University of Guelph from 2014 to 2017. The 5-10, 199-pound Guelph, Ontario native registered 114 tackles and nine interceptions over his four seasons with the Gryphons.
