As the week comes to an end, the Hamilton Tiger-Cats training camp continues. The next six practice days will be used to put together a game plan, heading into the June 1st matchup against the visiting Toronto Argonauts. The luxury of having two preseason games is that it allows the coaching and management staff to weigh all options they have at every position. With 87 players in attendance at Ron Joyce Stadium, the sheer depth on this Tiger-Cats team is sure to be a weapon that will come in handy this season.
Like a Kid in a Candy Store: 
As the CFL offseason saw a decimation of some team’s wide receiver core, Hamilton’s has remained intact. With Tasker, Banks, Saunders, and Chambers all returning to TigerTown this season, depth will become Corey Grant’s secret weapon. Hamilton had a season of wide receiver production and with all the talent that has come to Hamilton through the draft and signings, makes the receiver position a true threat this season.

The Cream of the Crop: 
Hamilton’s offensive line has been one of the more interesting areas of the team this training camp. This stems from the personnel that has been brought in to give Hamilton’s offence some support up front. Rookies to keep your eyes on this season are Darius Ciraco and Joel Van-Pelt. With both linemen coming into their first season, it will be interesting to see where they will be slotted in.

Eat ‘Em Raw: 
It has been noted that Hamilton’s defence is the real deal. And as training camp progresses, the notion that defence wins championships has the Tiger-Cats excited to see just what this group can do. With a secondary so rich with talent, Jerry Glanville has constructed a group that can do a number on the CFL this season. With the move of D.J May to the SAM position and Richard Leonard becoming the true definition of a lockdown defensive back, teams are going to struggle to get anything accomplished through the air this season.
