This game marks the first matchup between the Als and the Ticats since the blockbuster deal that saw the two teams exchange multiple players and picks. Here are this week’s five predictor questions.

Rushing for a league-low 413 yards so far this season, Montreal has had difficulty on the ground. Meanwhile, Hamilton’s defence allowed just 65 rushing yards against the Redblacks last week.

How many receiving yards will Jalen Saunders record: over or under 100?
Coming off his second 100-yards receiving game of the season, Tiger-Cats wide receiver Jalen Saunders continues to climb the CFL leaderboards. Saunders sits third in the league in receiving yards (536) and tied for third in receptions (35) heading into Week 8.
The Alouettes, meanwhile, have allowed the most points (193) and net offence (415.3 yards per game) in the league so far this season.

Through six games, the Ticats have faced the fourth-most rushing attempts against in the CFL with 127. On those 127 rushing attempts, Hamilton has allowed 6.0 yards per carry. The Als average 4.8 yards per rush.
Montreal enters this game having recorded its first 100-yard rushing game of the season against the Edmonton Eskimos last week.

This season has seen the rise of several names in the Ticats backfield, including Mercer Timmis, Sean Thomas Erlington, John White IV and the return of Alex Green. Additionally, the mobility of quarterback Jeremiah Masoli has factored into yards accumulated on the ground.

Last week, Hamilton prevented Ottawa from recording a touchdown. Forcing the Redblacks to score solely off field goals, the Ticats’ defence recorded 46 tackles and one sack. With the addition of Jamaal Westerman to the defensive line, Saturday’s game was a glimpse of what the group can do.
