This week, the Hamilton Tiger-Cats head to Montreal to face the Alouettes as both teams look to shake three-game losing streaks. Here are the three keys to the game.
Familiar faces
Going toe-to-toe against former Ticats offensive linemen Tony Washington and Landon Rice this week. Tiger-Cats head coach June Jones doesn’t see this as an advantage for the Alouettes.
“No, I don’t think so,” said Jones when asked if Montreal has an advantage. “Our defensive linemen have rushed Tony a bunch of times. There’s advantages and disadvantages with that.
“They still would have to be standing in the huddle to hear the play.”
Divisional game
Facing an East Division opponent for the second-straight week, Jones spoke about how crucial these games are.
“This is a game that we need to turn it up and play better,” said Jones. “The way I look at it, it’s a division game on the road and like I said last week, it’s two for us.”
The return Of Alex Green
Making his way back into the Tiger-Cats lineup after suffering an injury during the preseason is running back Alex Green. Green suffered an injury during preseason action against the Alouettes. Green recorded 28 rushing yards on nine attempts before being injured that night. In last year’s regular season, Green came on board in September, playing six games and recording 79 carries for 447 rushing yards and five touchdowns.
Coach Jones discussed what it means to have him back.
“You saw him running our runs last year,” Jones said. “He’s been running them since college, so he has a little better understanding of that.”
