3 Keys: Ticats @ Argos

It’s time for another installment of the Argos/Ticats rivalry.
The Ballard Cup currently resides in Hamilton, after the Ticats won the 2018 season series. They’ll be looking to get off the a quick start in 2019 as they look to repeat as Ballard Cup champions.
These are the 3 keys to Saturday’s matchup in Toronto
 1.Spoil their Home Opener
 The Ticats were successful in their Home Opener last week, when they beat the Roughriders 30-23 at Tim Hortons Field.
Toronto had a bye last week, so Hamilton will have the opportunity to spoil both the Argos’ home opener and their season opener.
There are plenty of former Argos in Hamilton who would like nothing more than to stick it to their former employer and head home from Toronto with a 2-0 record.
 2.Ticats Secondary vs. S.J. Green and Derel Walker
 This will likely be the key matchup of the game. Personally, I can’t wait for the Delvin Breaux-Derel Walker matchup.
Walker became the highest paid non-quarterback in the CFL this past offseason and Delvin Breaux has been one of the premier defenders in the league. This matchup is sure to be nothing short of entertaining.
Along with Breaux, the Ticats have plenty of talent in the secondary that will help share the load of Green, Walker and the rest of the Argo’s offence.
3.Chris Van Zeyl’s return

 Finally, this will surely be a storyline all game long. Chris Van Zeyl signed in Hamilton on the first day of training camp after spending 10 seasons in the double blue.
Van Zeyl says the whole process has been an adjustment because of how quickly things happened but he already loves being a Hamilton Tiger-Cat.
He also noted that going into this week, he’s been more focused on himself and the Hamilton Tiger-Cats rather than the Toronto Argonauts.
“I’ve always found in preparation it’s always more important to focus on your weaknesses than your opponent’s strengths, because they’re going to try and exploit your weaknesses and run things that are tailored to you.” Says Van Zeyl. “I tend to look at myself more and focus on improving my game rather than worrying about what the other guys want to do.”
I’m sure the entire Ticats locker room will want to win this one for Van Zeyl, but perhaps nobody more than the six Ticats who spent last season with Toronto (Coombs, Likely, Tuggle, Walker and Wynn).
