Tiger-cats Mourn The Loss Of Former Head Coach Charlie Taaffe

It is with deep sadness the Hamilton Tiger-Cats learned of the passing of former head coach Charlie Taaffe.
Taaffe was named the 19^th head coach in Ticats history in December 2006 and served parts of two seasons (2007-08) in that role. He also spent four seasons (1997-2000) with the Montreal Alouettes, including the final two years as head coach where he captured the Annis Stukus Trophy as the Canadian Football League’s Coach of the Year in both seasons. Taaffe also coached at the NCAA level for over 35 years, most recently as offensive coordinator for the University of Central Florida from 2009 to 2014.
“The Hamilton Tiger-Cats organization offers our sincerest condolences to the Taaffe family during this difficult time,” said Chief Executive Officer of the Tiger-Cats, Scott Mitchell. “Coach Taaffe was a great coach and an even better man. He will always be part of the Ticats family.”
