Ticats Make Their Super Bowl Picks
While it’s no Grey Cup, there is a pretty big football game coming up this weekend when the Kansas City Chiefs take on the San Fransisco 49ers in Super Bowl LIV in Miami.
Maybe you don’t watch the American game. Maybe your team was out of the running a long time ago. But if you’re like me, and millions of others across the country, you’ll be tuned into the spectacle on Sunday evening regardless.
I asked a handful of Ticats players who they’ve got and why. Here’s what they had to say!
Dane Evans:
“I think the Chiefs will win because in the end I don’t think you can contain all their weapons. When you have Kelce, Hill, Watkins, Hardman etc. It’s gonna be tough on that great defence to cover them all. Can’t put Richard Sherman on them all at one time. I think it’ll be a 31-28 game with the Chiefs taking it all.”
Brandon Banks:
“I’m rolling with KC! I just like Mahomes and that offence!”
Mark Washington, Defensive Coordinator:
“I’m going to go out on a limb and day the team with the most points at the end will win. 100% true. Heart says KC. Brain says SF.”
Mike Daly:
“I’ll pick KC. Their offence has too many weapons, need to see Andy Reid win a Super Bowl and it’s in Miami, so unless it’s raining that helps KC big time. I’d still pick the Ticats over KC though. Especially if we played in Newfoundland.”
Chris Van Zeyl:
“I’m picking the Kansas City Chiefs because they are a fun team to watch and I believe they are the better team as a whole.”
David Dean:
“I’m taking the Chiefs! I don’t think the 49ers are going to have an answer for Mahomes and their weapons. I think the Chiefs run defence will show up for this one.”
Delvin Breaux:
“I like Kansas City, to support New Orleans legend Tyrann Mathieu!”
Simoni Lawrence:
“KC Chiefs. Because Andy Reid has his team ready to run through a brick wall for him.”
Cariel Brooks:
“I’m choosing the San Fransisco 49ers. I thought the 49ers were one of the most consistent and balanced teams all season. They start fast, they run the football great and they get after the quarterback.”
Mike Filer:
“Really hoping Chiefs. Big fan of Andy Reid’s offence and play calling. One of my favourite offences to watch.”
Jackson Bennett:
“Both teams have high powered offences and a good amount of weapons at their disposal. But I do think KC will comet on top. The organization has been without a Super Bowl for 50 years, they are hungry for that trophy!”
Curtis Newton:
“I’m going to go with the 49ers because I think they have the better defence, as a defensive guy I’m gonna say defence wins championships.”
Kay Okafor:
“I’m going with the 49ers on this one!”
