Fans won’t have to wait long to see some of the new experiences as the club announced today there will be a world-class drone show after the home opener presented by FirstOntario following Families on the Field presented by Beneva. Fans can watch from the field as 100 drones light up the night sky with a Tiger-Cats themed display, unique to Tim Hortons Field.
The club also announced for the first time in history, there will be a concert during pre-game and halftime of the Labour Day Classic presented by WeatherTech. Renowned cover band Dwayne Gretzky will rock the stage at the Stelco North End and give life to some classic songs in front of what is sure to be an electric Labour Day crowd in the Hammer.
Some family-friendly fan favourites return for the 2023 season, including Families on the Field presented by Beneva, where kids will have a chance to imitate their favourite Ticats players and run around the turf at Tim Hortons Field following each Tiger-Cats home game. Mascot Stripes and a handful of Tiger-Cats players have also been known to make appearances throughout Families on the Field so be sure to keep an eye out for that. The family fun doesn’t stop there, as the south plaza will be jammed pack with plenty of family-oriented activities including face painting, inflatables, lawn games, mascots and more as South Plaza Saturdays return after a very successful debut season in 2022.
Tiger-Cats fans will also have the opportunity to welcome back some legendary alumni throughout the year, as the Alumnus of Distinction program presented by Findlay Personal Injury Lawyers returns. Notable alumni, including Archie Amerson, Tim Cheatwood, Kevin Glenn, Dave Hack and more will return to Hamilton throughout the 2023 season while legendary receiver Darren Flutie will have his name and #82 added to the Tiger-Cats Wall of Honour in a halftime ceremony on August 17 when the Tiger-Cats host the Edmonton Elks.
One of the best nights on the Canadian Football calendar will also return to Tim Hortons Field in 2023, when the Canadian Football Hall of Fame class is enshrined on September 15. The class, including Josh Bourke, John Bowman, Larry Crawford, Jacques Dussault, Solomon Elimimian, Lloyd Fairbanks and Larry Smith will be honoured during a halftime ceremony the next night when the Tiger-Cats host the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
