Tiger-cats Ready For Home Opener Friday

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats continued their week three preparations at Tim Horton’s Field Thursday.

The team took part in their pre-game walk through, rehearsing their game plan for Friday’s home opener against the Montreal Alouettes presented by FirstOntario.

The Tiger-Cats look to capture their first win of the season against a 1-0 Alouettes team that is coming off a BYE in week two.

Coach Orlondo Steinauer spoke about the boost the team gets while playing in front of a home crowd.

” They’re excited, it’s going to be an exciting time and we’re just looking forward to it,”  Said Coach Orlondo Steinauer at today’s media availability.

Matthew Shiltz will start in place of the injured Bo Levi Mitchell.

Shiltz went 13 for 14 with 115 yards passing and one touchdown pass in relief of the injured Mitchell.

“I’m preparing the way I always do, and i’m looking forward to going out there and helping the team,” Said Shiltz at today’s media availability.

Returning to the lineup will be Lawrence Woods III.

Woods III will be back on the corner and will return kicks on special teams.

He expressed that he’s ready to get rolling at home.

“It feels good to come back and suit up at Tim Hortons Field,” Said Woods III when asked about returning to the lineup.

James Butler also spoke to media following Thursday’s walk-through.

Butler has a touchdown in each of the first two games and has made his presence known in the backfield as one of the most dominant dual threat running backs in the league.

“I just need to continue to do what I’m doing, whatever play is called or whatever role I’m provided with, I just need to make the most of it,” Said Butler when asked about what he needs to do to continue playing at a high level.

Game time for tomorrow’s matchup is 7:30 pm at Tim Hortons Field.
