Purolator Tackle Hunger scores big in Hamilton with almost 254,000 pounds of food raised

Hamilton Tiger-Cats fans rally to tackle hunger at Hamilton Stadium

HAMILTON, ONT., Sept. 4, 2025 — Purolator Tackle Hunger® volunteers collected 253,924 pounds of food for Hamilton Food Share during this year’s Purolator Tackle Hunger Game Day Food Drive at the Hamilton Tiger-Cats sold-out home game against the Toronto Argonauts on Monday, Sept. 1 and during other food drives this season.

The Game Day Food Drive saw Hamiltonians bring non-perishable food items, make monetary donations and tap to donate—all to raise much-needed support for Hamilton Food Share. Monday’s effort brings the Ticats’ campaign total to almost 254,000 pounds of food – a record-breaking result for the team.

“Hamilton fans never fail to amaze us. They packed Hamilton Stadium with donations and supported three grocery store Stuff-a-Truck events during the past few weeks,” said Aleks Vidakovic, Unit Manager, Burlington, Ont., Purolator. “The generosity and dedication from both the fans and the Tiger-Cats players is truly inspiring. We’re proud to support that energy through our team’s efforts on the ground, in the community and across our network.”

Since its inception 22 years ago, the Purolator Tackle Hunger program has helped deliver more than 25 million pounds of food to Canadian food banks.
