HAMILTON, ON — The Hamilton Tiger-Cats Football Club is saddened by the passing of Frank Gansz Jr., who served as the team’s special teams coordinator during the 2018 season. He was 64.

A second-generation football coach with more than four decades of experience across U.S. college football, the NFL, and the CFL, Gansz brought a wealth of knowledge and great passion to his brief but memorable time in Hamilton. Known throughout the football world for his mastery of the special teams craft and his ability to teach and mentor, he left a lasting impression on the players and staff who worked alongside him.

The Tiger-Cats extend their deepest condolences to the Gansz family and to the broader football community mourning his loss. Our thoughts are with those close to him, his friends, and the many players and coaches whose lives he touched throughout his remarkable career.
