HAMILTON, ON – August 25, 2026 – One of Canadian sport’s biggest traditions returns to Hamilton Stadium on Monday, September 7, as the Hamilton Tiger-Cats host the Toronto Argonauts in the WeatherTech Labour Day Classic.
Kickoff is set for 2:30 p.m. ET, with gates opening at 12:30 p.m. ET, giving fans more than two hours to enjoy the TigerTown game day atmosphere, filled with live music on the Stipley Stage and a variety of fun activations for fans to explore in Hamilton Stadium’s South Plaza.
Another capacity crowd is expected for this year’s edition of Canada’s largest annual single-day sporting event. With the Labour Day Classic expected to sell out ahead of game day, fans are encouraged to secure their seats now to avoid disappointment.
Ticats-Argos Rivalry Set for Another Dramatic Chapter
As the Tiger-Cats push toward the final stretch of the season, this year’s Labour Day Classic takes on even greater significance, as the winner will claim the season series between the two division rivals. With a spot in the 2026 CFL Playoffs on the line, the stage is set for another highly anticipated showdown in this year’s classic.
Tomi Swick and Matthew Good to Highlight Halftime Show
Juno Award-winning Hamilton singer-songwriter Tomi Swick will headline the WeatherTech Labour Day Classic halftime show, featuring a special guest appearance by 4-time Juno Award-winning artist Matthew Good.
The performance will be part of a full day of entertainment surrounding the annual showdown between the Tiger-Cats and Argonauts, with Born in the 80s performing on the Stipley Stage during pregame.
Greg Marshall Named Alumnus of Distinction
The Tiger-Cats will also recognize former Hamilton coach Greg Marshall as the club’s Alumnus of Distinction during pregame and in the stadium.
Marshall has enjoyed an accomplished career in Canadian football, including his time with the Tiger-Cats and a remarkable run at the university level, where he established himself as one of the most successful coaches in Canadian university football history.
Purolator Tackle Hunger Returns to Support Hamilton Food Share
Fans attending the WeatherTech Labour Day Classic are encouraged to support Purolator Tackle Hunger®. Fans can help tackle food insecurity in the Hamilton community by bringing a non-perishable food item or making a monetary donation as they enter the stadium or online.
Last season, Purolator Tackle Hunger volunteers collected 253,924 pounds of food for Hamilton Food Share through the Labour Day Classic Game Day Food Drive and other food drives throughout the season. The Tiger-Cats and Purolator are once again calling on fans to rally behind the initiative and help make an impact in the Hamilton community.

Fans will also have the opportunity to mark the occasion with a limited-edition WeatherTech Labour Day Classic T-shirt. Limited quantities will be available for purchase at the game or as part of the Labour Day Classic Collector’s Bundle.
